SNXJ Midnight Kintsugi
This watch is from the Seiko 5 line up, it has been discontinued. The SNXJ in essence is a homage to the DateJust, with some key differences, the watch case is less curved, has a smaller lug to lug, and has the crown at 4 O'clock. These cases have become quite rare and expensive. It is also really difficult to find one that is in decent condition. My aim for this restoration was to refinish the case, clean, sand, and polish it. I also wanted the watch to have a distinctive Japanese vintage vibe. The original crystal has been swapped to a double domed sapphire crystal. The movement has been swapped with a brand new OEM movement, the crown has been changed to an OEM crown, all gaskets have been renewed and lubricated. The dial which I designed and made is inpired by the Japanese art of kintsugi, it is also textured with the Seigaiha wave. The dial is plated in 18K gold. The Kanji symbol in the bottom portion of the dial stands for "The Sea" which is read as "Umi" in Japanese. I would love to hear your feedback, thank you for checking this out.
