Black Sea & Sky Dial
The dial is done in Japanese stylistic art. The Sea is comprised of black “Seigaiha” waves, with the specific waves at 4, 5 and 7, 8 O'clock having a white subtle arc. The logo sits at 6 O'clock. The Sky carries on with the Japanese theme, having the clouds designed in the same fractal style of the Seigaiha wave. It was important to me to design the dial without having obvious hour markers, so I used different elements of the dial to point to each hour. The seagull at 12 O'clock, the clouds mark the 10, 11 and 2 O'clock. A line drawn from the origin of the hands through the center of the sun points to 1 O'clock. The Kanji characters at 3 and 9 stand for "Sea" & "Sky" respectively. The dial is 18K gold plated.
